Poly reduce tool not working...

Hey there - So I've just created a humanoid model and would like to reduce the geometry to meet my polycount limit. However when selecting my object and hitting the reduce tool nothing is happening? I'm not sure if I'm missing something here but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried duplicated it and deleting the history but neither has helped.

(I've attached a picture of the model/wireframe just incase its a geometry issue)

Click the option box for 'Reduce' and reset the settings... then try again.
