Help with subdiv proxy?

Hi, I'm starting to learn again how to use Maya and I was modeling this character. I made a Subdiv Proxy for the head and I don't know how to undo it. Any tips? I've been modeling this head for like 3 - 5 hours so starting all over again is like my last option. 😞 It looks like this now, 4-17-2014 10-31-03 PM.jpg

Modify-Convert- subd to polygon...

To remove a subdiv proxy - you need to 'ungroup' the group that was created when you made it - you can then select and delete the proxy.
