Center 2 vertices like in XSI?

Hi,

as an old Softimageuser since 15 years i´m trying to swich now to Maya.

For my workflow i´m missing some tools in Maya or cant find them in the manual.

Question:

I´m searching in Maya a function for the "Center 2 Vertices" from XSI.

Example in XSI:

Have a simple Cube.

Select the 4 bottom Vertices.

There is a command: "Center 2 Vertices".

XSI will set the center (pivot) to the selected center of vertices.

(i know the function in Maya "Center Pivot", but this will center the pivot for the whole object. What i want is to center the pivot to a selection of vertices !)

Something there in Maya?

Have only found to press insert and tranlsate the pivot manually or set the values for this in the pivot-section of the attribute-editor in Maya.

In XSI the center is always in the exact COG of the selected vertices.

Translate it manually in Maya is not precise enough.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Martin

Many thanks, thats what i want !

Looks like more powerful to center the pivots in many ways as in XSI.
