Interested in joining our Autodesk Univeristy Open Design Team?

Hello,

The Medusa Project --Creativity/CAD/Community

Our TechShop Open Design team is looking for DIY Fusion 360 users to join our growing list of 2014 Autodesk University project enthusiasts. This year we are proposing to submit a 1500MM VFX UAV designed with a full Autodesk software workflow. Our project is quite exciting pushing the limits of large format 3d printing, CNC, and Multi-Rotor RC Systems.

Our project goals:

  1. Paper and classes at AU that show how we designed and built the VFX UAV
  2. Requesting a keynote spot to hover the tethered VFX UAV 6ft directly over the stage for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Requesting to display the VFX UAV in the main hall or with our sponsors in the exhibit hall.
  4. To make all of the CAD data and components list available to everyone to build their own.
  5. To ship the VFX UAV around the globe to educate on Open Design and community design and development.Contributi
  • Team members will all be included in our paper and submission to AU. If our project is accepted there may be opportunities for those of you already attending AU to present and teach our final Fusion 360 design process. In addition, you will receive yet to be defined Medusa Project swag.

Are proposed design and build workflow.

  1. Design sketches in Sketch Mobile.
  2. VFX Exo-Skeleton design 3ds Max for animation and pre-visualization.
  3. PVC CAD Prototype designed in Fusion 360- in process.
  4. Import-3DS Max Exo-Skeleton into Fusion 360 as a Step file.
  5. Design Airframe in Fusion 360 to support Exoskeleton.
  6. 3D Print Exoskeleton.
  7. CNC airframe.
  8. Assemble.
  9. Weigh final design and modify tethered lift power system.
  10. Fly at AU.

If your interested please post here 🙂
