Text size of amnote

Does anyone know how to change the text size of an AMNOTE? I've tried
changing DIMTXT and TEXTSIZE to 0.188, but the AMNOTE insists on coming in
at 0.120. I can't seem to find anything in AMOPTIONS > Standards. Hope
nobody minds the snap.
TIA, Dick

Can't double check right now, but I think that is controlled by amoptions and then
double click on the top item on the list (I think it is the standard name)

Assist\format\dimension style
click on the text tab and change the text size.

If that is not the problem you might want to try and edit the text style
(assist\format\text styles) and edit the default text size there.

amoptions and RMB on your standard. Color and size is controlled by this
dialog. (pretty sure about this 🙂

Thanks for the replies all. That worked. What if I need 0.12 for b size
drawings and 0.188 for d size drawings? Should I:

1. Create a different but parallel standard for each drawing size?
2. Manually flip back and forth as needed?
3. Forget about making differing text heights that are drawing size
dependent?
4. Create Dimstyles and use dimstyles (yuck, never used them before)? Will
amnote honor these?

Thanks again and best regards and hoping all yours is safe and sound,
Dick

What you should do is really pretty much up to your tastes Personally I keep things
simple (just like me) and use the same size for all drawings.

How do you bring in the titleblock? It might be pretty easy to have a macro or lisp that
sets the value when you insert the titleblock.

That's exactly what I used to do in R14. I'll fiddle with that. Thanks. See
that's the beauty of MDT - you can leverage your previous experience for
what it may be worth.

By the way when I click on that and adjust the value, do you know what
variable I'm adjusting?

Hmmm not sure, I think it is available in VBA, would have to double check, and the other
way to go about it is to use amsymscale / amrescale. That of course affects other things
also though.

Yup, it is supported in VBA
This changes it to a value of 2

Option Explicit
Public Sub txtsize()
Dim mcad As McadApplication
Set mcad = ThisDrawing.Application.GetInterfaceObject("Mcad.Application")
Dim symbb As McadSymbolBBMgr
Set symbb = ThisDrawing.Application.GetInterfaceObject("SymBBAuto.McadSymbolBBMgr")

symbb.StandardMgr.CurrentStandard.TextHeight = 2

End Sub

Oh scary. Now I get to delve into the world of acad vba. Is it any harder
than lisp or do I just have a mental block? I knew this day would come
sooner or later. So there's no way to do it in lisp?

What are the names and locations of the titleblocks you would be inserting? Are you a
command line, or a toolbutton guy? Do you like dialog boxes or just a toolbutton or
command line call?

See customer files for a VBA project

If you add some lines like this to your acaddoc.lsp (add similar ones for all your sizes,
just change the asize in both places to bsize etc....)

(defun c:asize()(command "-vbarun" "Titleblock.dvb!aSize"))

and you save the VBA project somewhere in the Autocad path it should work

If you need help give a holler.

Opps stirring to many pots at once here, just realized I think that file still had my
drawing referenced in the cSize section. You need to open it in the vbaide and where it
says

sSize = "j:\dwg\dwglib\2d\coutlin.dwg"
'sSize = "c:\support\blk\hc-size.dwg"

delete the first sSize line, and then remove the ' from the second.

Very nice. I have a book here by Joe Sutphin called "AutoCAD 2000 VBA
Programmer's Reference", and have been meanin' to get a Round TUIT, so this
may just be the kick in the pants I've been needing. Did you do that from
scratch, or did you already have something lieing about?

When I first ran it it gave me an error, but then I noticed there was a "-"
missing off the file name that I gave you. So I typed in VBAIDE and found
the line and changed it. Voila.
Just curious what variable controls the arrowhead size. What extra line of
code would I need to control that as well?

Nevermind, I poke around for awhile (just like in lisp) and got it. Now I'm
going to figure out how to let the user (that's me) place the titleblock.
Wish me luck.

No it was from scratch with the exception of I stole a small section of the insert
block code from help. The Vanilla VBA help is very good, and programs can easily be
written by taking a little snip of this code and a little snip of that code and
mixing it all together. There is really very little code in that, it is just the
same thing over 5 times with one or two small changes to each section.

Good luck on the mods.
