Pattern Array Problem

I have created a simple drawing of a part I was modeling this weekend at
home, and came across this interesting problem I never encountered before.
Basic, all it is a cylinder part of a bulkhead mounted switch, and an array
of solder lugs. I created the first lug as shown, and then was going to make
a pattern of it. I selected the AMDT_RECTPATTERN command, selected the edge
of the lug I had created. it highlighted as expected. I chose to make the
array on 2 columns spaced about .0785 apart. as it is showing the preview,
it shows a duplicate of the lug being patterned. when you select OK all you
receive is the basic block without the fillet or hole cut through. When I
did it at home I did it with MDT6, Here at work I did it with MDT5. Both had
the same results. I would have expected that if the preview showed the
correct result, that the final should also have the correct result. I am
posting this to CF, and the text only to both MDT5 and MDT6 groups.

Is this a bug? it supposed to be like this? Am I just too stupid to do this
correctly? I mean, if I had to array this feature 100 times would I have to
create the hole and fillet on each and every one of the arrayed pieces?

TIA

brian

I think you have to explicitly pick each feature, i.e. each extrusion and
the fillet.

I see where you are comming from Jeff, but it still doesn;t explain why the
preview is intelligent enough to display what I want, but the actual pattern
function is so stupid.

I have had this problem for a while. I have found that if you pick the non
filleted/chamfered section of the piece you want to array it should work
(sometimes). The other option is to create the feature as a tool body then
"join" the tool body to the part and array the feature. In MDT6 you can
also click on the feature tab in the pattern window that pops up and add
more features to the array.

MDT should be smart enough to array all the modifications to a feature but
at least they have now added the ability to add features to the array.

i found you can add even in 5 , but only other features created before the
array operation.
