Genius DT3 vs MDT6 in die design

I'm a one man band die (mold) designer using (still) MDT3 with Genius Vario. It's time to move on and upgrade. Just wandering is it a quantum leap using MDT6 in my field? What can MDT6 do that I can't do with Genius DT3? Reading about all the bugs and hassles with MDT6 I'm a bit scared.
I would like to have a bit more clear picture.
Any help and advice much appreciated? Thanks.

wow! desktop 3. you must be a patient guy to have been using that for the past few years. compared to mdt3, mdt6 is great, well even mdt4 was a big improvement. it is a biggish step as some things work in slightly different ways or are presented differently, however i think you can pick it up pretty quickly. the biggest steps i have found are 1) the standards setting, these are that deep that they get a bit complex especially as it seems to keep trying to change my templates and old drawings!, 2)finding out little bits and features (cause i never read the 'whats new' or manuals etc) i would recommend that you upgrade

you want to talk quantum leaps, I went from R13c4
directly to MDT5 SP3 ( now SP4) in May '01  then just recently to
MDT6.

PS. i haven't seen too big a difference from 5 to
6, just bells and whistles so far

well 5 did crash like 15 times an hour until i sp3
installed, then it was like once an hour, with sp4 it got as good as once a week
or so.

Haven't had 6  or 3dMAX crash at home, but
when they tried installing 6 on my computer here at work, it wouldn't even
load 2002 vanilla without locking the system. so i am using 5 here at work
still.

Brian

PS. I'll never use R13 again, it is too
ancient.

Actually,

Forgeting the nice MDT4-6 feautres like restructure
and edit in place etc MDT3 was the fastest (graphics included) and most stable
release of MDT ever IMHO. I never used MDT4 (although I had it) because the
stability of MDT3 was great. then MDT5 come out and the feature set was just to
good to pass up. Apart from the dim issues MDT6 is a great release, controling
vis of external subs in scenes alone is cool.
