Digitizer Support, MDT5

There is no mention of digitizer setup in the MDT5 installation guide, or no
AMTABLET command. Does MDT5 still support digitizers? We have one
installation working with MDT5 but when selecting a file or button on the
today window I get the message: Another command currently active. Please
cancel or ...

Digitizers are not supported in MDT.

Digitizers may not be supported, but they do work. You will just have to alter the tablet drawing for AutoCAD 2000i

hi, i'm new here. i use a summagraphics III digitizer with mdt5 (used one since approx acad ver 2.62)
i am running nt4 sp6 with mdt5pp sp2 on a pIII 700 w 384mg and nvidia graphics. have had no problems
and my system "feels normal" or at least the same as mdt3 and mdt4 and many previous systems. i
will not give up my digitizer and my menu.
at home i run a PII 400 w 256mg and nvidia graphics. i am experimenting with w2k using mdt5pp sp2
i am using w2k to try to solve stability probs.(prior to sp2) the only problem is that the drivers for w2k
for the digitizer are beta but i have no "real" problems but the system "FEELS" funny (jerky and the
cursor is not always visible. also the digitizer frequently stops functioning. a "REINIT" always seems
to solve the problem. as the drivers are only beta, hopefully these insignificant problems will be solved
soon.
in summation - digitizers do work best in nt4 sp6 however future drivers for the digitizer on w2k may
work as well as in nt4. please note that i only went to w2k to improve stability with MDT5 sp1a
at the same time i loaded the Nvidia drivers rather than the "Creative" drivers. the system stability
seems better (almost as good as mdt4) but i don't know what factor solved the problem, moving to w2k,
sp2, or nvidia drivers. please note that my station at work has been very good since sp2 without
using w2k or the nvidia drivers.

We have no trouble with our digitizers & MDT5.
We do have trouble with our digitizers & Win2000 however.

hardin,

What trouble are you having with Win2K (other than finding a driver)? Have
you tried Digitizer Tech's VTI?
http://www.vtablet.com/
Works well for me.
