Curved edges of object not showing up in drawing in paperspace

My problem is this: the radii portion of a formed object will not appear
in the views in my drawing. In the orthographic views, where ever the
radius resides, there is nothing. In section views of the object, there
isn't even any hatch. This happens at all levels of my assembly with this
part. Any ideas, other than blowing the entire part and starting over?

Have you checked off "show tangencies" (on view
display tab)?

It isn't the tangencies that aren't
showing........the actual outer edges of the object won't show in orthographic
views ( curved outer surfaces )....where ever the object is straight shows
up.  Isometric views look fine.  Section views of my orthographic
views do not show the object at all....no hatch either. Turning on the
tangencies does not good....

Have you checked off "show tangencies" (on view
display tab)?

Show tangencies has always done it for me! You
might want to past a sample to verify it's not a display issue. maybe a "layer
frozen/off" issue?

I have turned on and unfrozen every
layer.....  There is something wrong with the ambend feature.  I
suppress the feature and the object appears correctly....unsuppressed and I have
ghost parts.

 

Here is the whole story:

 

This part starts as a .75" thick panel, 12"  x
60" approximately.  In it's flat state I have placed several features in
it.....4 4" dia holes, and an array of "curfs" on the back side (.25 x .625 cut
through.....approx 40 total) and saw cuts on all edges for an assembly
spline.  Then I created a new drawing file...a new part (dummy part...no
objects) to represent the part in its curved state....used amcombine and then
applied the ambend to show the part in its formed state.  It is at this
level that I have problems.  Confused?  Are all the other features in
this part to complex for the ambend feature?  The part looks great in model
space.....

Show tangencies has always done it for me! You

I almost always start from selection based
view.  The parts in question here are externalized as piece parts (there
are two)....these parts are pulled into a panel assembly...then pulled into an
upper level assembly.  The problem occurs at all levels. I tried to create
views from a scene....same problem.  I still don't get why isometric views
look ok.  If I create a base view with my object at a random angle 
(using 3dorbit create the angle I wish) some of the lines show....depends on the
angle of the view?

Michael,

Are these complicated parts? Sounds like there may be a problem with the
entities.

A few things to try....

AMSANITYCHECK

Set AMFEATCHK to 63 and force an update on the part (AMUPDATE > ALL).

Export a .stp, read it back in, see if everything looks ok and do another
sanity check.

Creating the .stp file and importing it back in did not good either. Part
looks fine in model space....paper space it still won't show certain
entities, even as a base solid!

    Got to be an mdt PS problem.
Acis out file displays fine in spacial's acis viewer and pastes in and displays
fine in word. Just can't get hidden line view to display properly in mdt
PS.

    I'm baffled, just took a look in
a newer version of the hoops viewer and there are definitely some unexpected
lines and triangles. it might be the cuts in the edges? They don't seem to
take a curve. I'll try some experiments later, when i've got a little more
time.

Michael,
Edit the view that is questionable in Paper Space and get rid of the
check mark in the "Remove Coincidant Edges" this should solve your
problem.

Sorry, no dice...

To get this to work, I had to eliminate the ambend from the combined
part....go back the the flat part and apply the ambend there. Eliminate the
amcombine and the part looks fine.....

Michael,
Opps, that just pacifies the problem , does not fix it...if you turn
on hidden lines and remove the check mark from "remove coincident
edges" if show up fine, however, when you suppress the bend feature,
everything shows up and works just fine too as you said. Weird, not
sure what is going on?

The. lines that should be shown on the am_vis layer are dumped into the
am_hid layer. So, just for fun I tried to modify the edge properties of a
screwed up view....I turned ON the hidden lines.....selected one of the
hidden lines that should be visible....changed it from the am_hid layer to
the am_vis layer......should show up then, right? WRONG.....still isn't
visible......
