I would like to know where to find the files I need to backup all toolbars & menu files I have configured in acad mechanical 2004.
All toolbars and menus. And how to restore them after I do a reinstall of software.
please be thorough.
In the standard acad 2004 it was as simple as saving the mns & mns files and putting them back in the proper folder after a reinstall. I see that acad mechanical 2004 uses different files for these menus and toolbars.
Thanks to all.
Joe
Any chance of being more specific what files I need to backup the toolbars and menu files only? For acad mechanical 2004 specifically?
It says you are elite user. Can you be a little more helpful?
And how to restore this setting after a re-install of software?
I know how to access these areas, even with some of them being hidden system files.
There are many folders and files in the locations you mentioned. I know of this tab. Where you pointed me to looks like only one file for this. But I am thinking there are more than one file I need to back these up.
I don't have 2004 loaded anymore but at some point Autodesk started placing these files under your windows user profile. Here are some example locations for Mechanical Desktop 2009. You can also sort by date, the files you modified will have the newest date. Note I am using Windows 7.
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2009\R17.2\enu\Acadm
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2009\R17.2\enu\Support
The sort by date should highlight what files have changed. Alot has changed since I used 2004 but if I can help I will.
