Assembly visibilty

When I select multiple parts in my assembly RMB and choose visiblity I lose
my selection set. The command line asks me to select a part. I know I have
used this before but for the life of me I can't figre out what has changed.
This also happens when I use assembly visibility. I lose my previously
selected selection set.

Check the pickfirst variable.

No luck, any other ideas. I haven't used MDT much lately, I must be rusty.

Odd It really sounds to me like pickfirst is set to 0 The only other one that is coming
to mind is pickadd, but I don't think it would do what you say.

Are you doing this in the browser or on the screen?

I've played with about every option I can imagine (both amoptions & acad
options) and I can't make mine misbehave. They always go visible and
nonvisible in a group. Have you tried selecting a group in the browser
and hitting the "visibility" icon? How does it behave if you do that?
Have you looked at you windows mouse options? RMB = context menu. Are
the rest of your RMB's working properly?

My other RMB commands are messed up as well, for instance if I select a part
in the assembly and RMB and select "Zoom To" it asks me which part I want to
zoom to rather than just zooming to the selected part. It's like I'm losing
the selection, as if I were hitting the key.

Is the variable "shortcutmenu" set to 11. If not, I think this is best.

I'm using a Spaceball 2003 I wonder if this would affect the selection sets?

shortcutmenu is set to 11. I can pick multiples in the browser and turn off
the visiblity. It just doesn't allow me to pick the parts in the window and
keep them picked during a command.

thanks,

George

In that case, I'd test the spaceball. That's usually pickfirst set to0.
Unload it and restart and see what happens.

It was the spaceball. As soon as I disabled and restarted MDT it worked as
expected.

Thanks for your help

My spaceball doesn't seem to cause that problem. You might check for a newer driver at
