Attribute Editor window/tab width issue

Hi Everyone,

An annoying problem I have with resizing the Attribute Editor window and/or tab in Maya 2014 (mac edition).

If I have the AE window floating on a newly opened scene I can resize as normal:

But if I 'snap/dock' the AE window to the Channel Box area of the UI the AE box automatically resizes to cover half of the main Window, although you can rollover the resize bar in the middle, it will only allow expansion:

Furthermore if I then detach the AE window to float again the newly enlarged AE window remains and still cannot be resized any smaller:

Anyone know what the heck is happening, or how to solve this irritation, only solution I've found is to re-open the scene and never dock the AE.

I have the exact same issue,

I have to quit maya for the problem to resolve

I have not found a fix for this yet, will post when I do.

Hey guys I have the same issue as well, what I did to resolve this was re-doc the Attribute editor!

close maya!

restart maya and I found the window for the Attribute editor can be re-sized again you can pull it out and re-doc it and its been working fine for now!

Try it let me know how you go!

It was driving me crazy, here is how to solve it:

]windows > settings/preferences > UI elements > Panel Configurations>
Turn off:
When saving[ ] Save panel layouts in with file
When opening [ ] Restore saved layouts from file

Close maya, restart. You may set the preferences as before if you'd like.

Excellent work Iro! This has sorted it for me. I had to be sure to click on the attribute editor tab first though, in order to resize?.
Thanks
