Publisher 2013 Word Add-in Error

Hi,

Publisher 2013 SP2 when I click to link to an IPB file from inside Word 2010 I receive the following error: 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation' Following this nothing happens (the link is not created). I have tried a repair and reinstall of Publisher with no success. Can anyone advise please? Many thanks

I have no solution but i have the same problem!

If i check my Add-ins in word, can i see that the Autodesk vault addin for office 2010 is closed?

and i cant restart it.

I did restart the vault add-in but i still can't uppdate the word file!

Hi Timmy,

I think there may be some confusion. My post was regarding the Publisher add-in in Word, not the Vault add-in. If you have lost your Vault add in tab for Word it can be easily restored using Add or Remove Programs - go to the Vault Client,   Uninstall/Change, remove the Word add in component, and then do the same thing again and add it. This has worked fine for me every time. This is probably also documented on the Vault forum.

Hello All,

Thank you all for posting this issue in newsgroup. I can also reproduce the word addin issue. And this has been logged in the internal defect tracking system.

Regards,

Peggy

Sorry!

I tought that the update didn't work beacuse word didn't have conections to the vault.

Hi Timmy,

No, I was getting the Invocation error message before I pointed Word to any IPB file to link to so Vault was nothing to do with it.

Thanks Peggy for the response. The Add-in was working with SP2 until recently, it must have been a windows update of some kind?

I have exactly the same problem.

Inventor Publisher 2012 plug in for Word 2010

Trying to link or to insert a file results in the described error.

I see the answer of Peggy Wang.

But no solution yet?

Hi,

I am sorry you met this issue and gave us the feedback. the workaround is to uninstall SP2 and back to SP1, or you also can wait for our next version.

Thanks

Same question here: how do I uninstall SP2?

Message 12 of 29

I found it!

it´s where you uninstall program in windows ( control panel and so on). on the left bar you can chose "show installed updates" or something (my Windows is not in english) then you se Inventor Publisher 2013 SP2, then just install and the update in word working again.

Uninstalling SP2 works for me.

For Windows 7:

  • Open Control Panel
  • Choose Uninstall a program
  • Choose View installed updates (on the left)
  • Select Autodesk Inventor Publisher 2013 SP2 and select Uninstall.

Autodesk Inventor Publisher 2013 Service Pack 3 is now live. This issue has been fixed on SP3.

After installing SP3 the word add-in still don´t work fully satisfied.
when i uppdate the word document the text and pictures in the browser uppdates but the document stay the same!?
Is it some settings in word?

By the way when i install SP3 should i also install SP1 and SP2? the readme file does not say!

Best regards

Timmy

Don't need uninstall SP1 or SP2 if your already installed them. Just add the new SP3 package.

If you don't install any service pack, that is fine. SP3 containts all the updates in SP1 and SP2.

Hello Timmy,

Thank you for your post. I have tried on my computer, the update function in word addin can work as expected in my case.

Your issue about updating failure maybe another case that I have not encounted.

Would you mind send your data (word and IPB )to me? That can help us to reproduce the problem. My email is wang.ping@autodesk.com.

Thanks.

Hello Timmy,

I have reproduced your problem, that is not a regression of SP3. And already log this issue into the internal tracking system.

Thank you for posting this issue in Newsgroup.
