Opening AutoCAD Blocks in Publisher

Hi Guys

Are any of you aware a way in which i can import AutoCAD blocks in Publisher and recognise the blocks rather than the solids which make up the blocks?

I have an AutoCAD 3D model made up of 3 blocks which are all connected . Each block is made up of multiple solids (structural steel). I was wondering is there a way for me to get the geometry into publisher and show the blocks being animated into place?

Cheers

Martin

Hi Martin,

Inventor Publisher Supports "DWG 3D Block" and "DWG 2D Block" inserting.

1) DWG 3D Block

    - Click Insert Model command, Select a ACAD DWG 3D file, Click Options button

    - Check the checkbox of "Import by Block Components", click ok

    - Select a block in Select DWG Block dialog and click select

And then the DWG 3D Block will be inserted to canvas as components.

2) DWG 2D Block

    - Select 2D AutoCAD Block command

    - Select a ACAD DWG file with 2D block, click open

    - Select a block in Select DWG Block dialog and click select

And then the DWG 2D Block will be inserted to canvas as annotation.

Thanks
