Autodesk Inventor Publisher and FrameMaker

Is there a way to incorporate files from Publisher into FrameMaker? I have asked this question to the FM community to no avail.

I've tried linking to a 3D PDF created from Publisher and that does not work (I just get a black box) We need the 3D file to have interactivity so linking to a PNG or whatnot isn't the answer.

Can Publisher create a .u3d file? It seems that is what I need but could be wrong.

Thanks for any advice you can give!

I would like an answer to this as well.

Framemaker is very flexible and can import all manner of 3D objects, so it seems odd to me that it can't handle a .dwf from Publisher.  I would also be interested if Autodesk have plans to have .u3d as a save option.
