Animating a thread

Is there anyway you can animate, say a nut on a thread, so you can alter the direction of the movement of the animation?

Frustrating as hell having to make millions of partial turns.

Unfortunately, creating a series of snapshots with rotations is the only way to create these sorts of animations currently, although your frustration is understandable.We are continuing to pursue workflow improvements, and thank you for your feedback.
