the converted base feature is unusable. It converts only facets to faces, which is not handled in Inventor very good.
Much faces in parts or assemblies is equal much performance problems in Inventor.
A converter, which build up from facets which are in the same plane one surface or check if there is another rule based surface (fillets, chamfers,...), is desired (like geomagic studio)
Better feature would be a cut edge projected sketch from facets like facet enabler for Inventor can do.
