Sheet Metal Bend Sequence

Status: New Idea

We have very complex bend sequences and like to document our manufacturing experience on our drawings. We do bend order of operations but ISO's, step by step, are really helpful when you have to turn and flip components multiple times to get the desired result, especially when there are multiple possible bend sequence solutions.

I know there are multiple ways of accomplishing this through iParts, or LOD's, etc. but it would be nice to just edit the bend order in Inventor and then place views of the part on a drawing by selecting the part and something like "show all bends through bend X", etc.

And we have seen and in some cases used other suggestions to accomplish this but they all seem very time consuming.

I'd certainly find it useful too, to be able to go from the flat pattern, through each bend in order to check the design of parts with multiple folds, since it is occasionally possible to design something that physically can't be pressed in our factory. Just moving the EOF up in the folded model browser section can suppress features that would otherwise have an effect on the manufacturing
