Although STEP and IGES can provide part colors, many of them come in only as gray defaults. Perhaps this issue shows up with Parasolids, too, I didn't test it. SAT is no matter of interest for me, and perhaps I'm not alone with this point of view.
But Alias and another cloudy software can provide random colors for these gray imports.
