When ever editing a part it promts to check out the part but why not on editing iproperties? this would save time from trying to edit it closing the dialog box then checking it out then going back to edit the properties.
If this is considered, please don't implement it in such a way that it will be another way in which files can be dirtied in the workspace without being checked out. E.g. A user tries to edit a property but the file is released. Inventor asks if you want to continue anyway and the user says yes. Or the user says no, but Inventor dirties the file anyway. There's too much of that already!
I really hate to advocate for another Check Out prompt when there are so many that don't make any sense (like prompting to check out unedited subassemblies on opening parent, or prompting check out to use the measure command) I think this is one time a prompt could save some time. Also, if this were implemented when editing Bill of Materials it could save even more time.
