Print Dialogue Box

Print Dialogue Box

Inventor's Print dialogue box is in dire need of revision

Have a look at Design Review and Autocad for some good ideas

How about adding a Print preview to the model side of Inventor, IPT and IAM.  Now it'a a guess of what your gonna get.

The Adobe Acrobat print dialogue box is another good example

Soon Inventor will be Autocad.......

 Do you want a command line next?

When reviewing the Plotting capabilities of Inventor please include KWiKPrints 32 functionality (Sorry Kent. :))

By all means please improve the Inventor print options with quick user defined configurations (for example, one click to choose A3, fit to page, black and white to a specific printer) but please please please don't take any inspiration from the way that AutoCAD does it.

@Rory_M

I like the ability to chose the area to print - Extents, Window, etc - which have their uses, particularly when printing a self-check sheet of part of an A1 drawing onto A3 paper.

And the ability to save the set-up to the page/file.

I agree, the layout of Acad's plot dialogue leaves a lot to be desired, but some of the functionality is useful. It might also inspire the designers/developers to do something better.

After all, you can't get anything that is worse than the current Inv Print dialogue box 🙂

Indeed..... and add in the plotstamp here also.  Smiley Happy

It is absolutely necessary to add the option to print a window and next to it a "pick" button, like in AutoCAD!

It'd be nice if paper size, printer, etc. settings could be saved individually with each Sheet Format.
