Angle of a pipe end can be to sharp for a (pipe)lasercutting machine. The machine will be out of range by angle and/or material thickness.
It would be nice if framegenerator will be expand with a tool it makes it possible to simply calculate the shorten/lengthen dimensions by given an minimum and/or maximum angle "straight" to pipe wall so the pipe can be cut by a lasercut machine and will fit.
Also a possibility to give up welding preparations would be great.
It would also be nice if we had a "round to nearest X" so that we don't get silly things like a 25'-0 1/32" long beam that's just going to be welded into place but that smidgen of corner left over adds just enough.
Within the sample images provided within this idea, the solutions for the perpendicular cuts are relatively self explanatory. I have a question that I would like to pose to everyone here. Please take a look at the images below. If we use a pipes inner diameter edge to make a perpendicular cut (on both sides), we will create an interference with the OD on the inner (45 degree) edge (See IMAGE 1). How do you guys solve this problem in the real world with your cuts? Do you leverage a combination of referencing the inner diameter on the outside (130 degree) edge and the outer diameter on the inside (45 degree) edge (IMAGE 2)? Or do you solve it using some other mechanism? Please share any comments or feedback here. Thanks! Dan
