Improve UCS command in the Assembly environment

The UCS command inside the Assembly environment is not as useful as in the Part environment. In the part environment we can set up a ucs with three points. In the assembly environment it is not so easy. We make tubes swept along a centerline. We need to take measurements from points where the centerlines intersect from an assembly context. We have work arounds, but making the UCS command work the same in both environments would make life simpler.

+1 here. I agree.

Yes UCS creation should be much more powerful - and should be uniform between Part and assembly - one shoul dnever know the difference of whether working in part or assembly mode (creation or CAM).

UCS needs to be able to be setup from 3 planes, offset from other UCS. Ability to edit UCS offsets with just entry of values - no drag etc. I would like UCS to have displayable names togle on/off on the display

Hi,

it would be nice if the UCS placement would react the same way in assembly as it react in IPT. In IPT you can place it on points (from sketch for example) but on assembly you cant.

In assembly you can just place the UCS somewhere in space and then you have to go to parameters and change thy coordinations placement (X,Y,Z). Which is really not nice solution 🙂

So it would be really nice to be able to place UCS in assembly the same way as it now works in parts.

Problem discussed here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/forums/postpage/choose-node/true?interaction_style=idea

Thx
