Customizable quantity of "recent documents"

In my configuration of Autodesk inventor 2014, there is clearly room for at least 4 more "recent documents" in the inventor dropdown with it set to small icons.  
It would be nice to either 1) have the option to change the quantity of recent documents or 2) have it auto fill the remaining drop down space without extending the size of the total drop-down box (the actual goal).

The "Recent documents" area has been rebranded and expanded within Autodesk Inventor 2015. Some features of the new "My Home" tab include: an expanded most recently used file list containing rich information in the tooltip, display filters, and the ability to pin files you are working on to make them easy to locate.
