iProperties within each file type?

Which version of windows are you using 32bit or 64 bit? As far as i know you cannot read the thumbnails in the 64bit version, you need to find and use the 32bit Explorer that is in your system, i can't remember where it's at, but it's there. It's one of the problems of using IV2008 on a 64bit system.

Dear dennis
Can You Please tell me from where you exec. this dialogue box.
Also I got the poblem solved, what happened was before i was using inventor 11 and i uninstalled it, then i installed 2008. But some how in file explorer's--->tools--->folder options---> file types, it was showing all inventor files pointing to inventor 11 and not the inventor2008. i chaged it to 2008 and it worked. Thanks a lot for your help.

Best regards

ARE YOU USING THE 32 OR THE 64 BIT EXPLORER? Thumbnails only work in the 32bit explorer.

I assume you are asking aif I use 64 bit OS. Yes I use Windows 7 64 Bit.

Also I am sure we can see thumb nail preview in windows 7 64 bit. Its because I have witnessed it on my friends windows 7 64 bit computer.

Did you try to start  and close Design Assistant to give Inventor the chance to fully register all the hooks that we use into Windows Explorer?

Use following command to start a 32 explorer on a 64 bit machine:

%systemroot%\SysWOW64\explorer.exe /separate

See also TS13795910

Hopefully that will give you thumbnail capability.
