thicken offset of 4 spline surface

HI

I want apply thicken offset to the part of the roof i make,( i used 4 splines to make it).

But there is an error or flattern function doesn't make it flat.

What is wrong

Thank You for an answer

You are missing tangencies and bends.

I recommend you use arcs rather than splines.

You should be able to replace with arcs that are well within design/manufacturing specifications.

Nearly impossible to tell from pretty pictures - but it still looks like missing tangent and bends.

Hi! On R2014 and earlier, Inventor cannot unfold sheet metal body with zero radius bend. To bypass the limitation, you can create fillets on both sides (make sure the fillet radius is thickness + or - radius on the other side). Then the part should be unfoldable. If you still cannot make it work, please attach it here and I can take a further look.

Many thanks!

Hi

looks like my knowledge of sheet metal module is not deep  , i do this every day in real life but software seems to by more difficult then life :).

I tried fillets with no luck, so if You could check my file that would save many hours of the night.

Many Thanks

Hi! You did not do anything wrong here. It is just this particular workflow is not as intuitive as it could be. Attached is the part with fillet of 1mm. I am able to create the flat pattern out of the folded body.

Thanks!

Hi! I am very sorry to have missed the attachment last night. For some reason, I thought it was attached but it did not. Anyway, please take a look at the attached part and see if it can be replicated on your end.

Thanks!
