Hi, I have a simple frame made of a 1/2 rod and have inserted a textured appearance of expanded metal. It is a guard.
I am not sure if the way i inserted the texture is correct, but it currently is scaled down to small. Have to scroll in lots to actually see the expanded metal.
I have looked around but can't find any topics on how to adjust this, probably using the wrong terminology when searching.
Is there a better way to apply the texture than creating a surface?
How can I adjust the scale of the texture?
I have read on some older posts that textures don't show up in drawings except when shading is used.
Maybe applying a texture is not the best way to show that this guard is to have a section of expanded metal that will fit inside the 16x24 in guard? a note is not ideal in the drawing, but I suppose it is better than making an actual model of the expanded metal.
Any ideas or help is appreciated.
Part is attached below.

Hello, SeanFarr
Thanks for your great question, and the texture scaling for Appearance "Expanded Metal 01" is a bit differrent in 2013, please follow the steps to change the Scale.
1. Open the part
2. Open Appearance browser and show used assets for document library
3. Edit the asset "Expanded Metal 01" by double click
4. In editor, notice, the Option Cutout reflect the scaling for this case, Expand the Cutout and click the image to open texture editor, modify the scale value such as "100,72.22", then the graphic window rendering update to your expectation.
any more qustions, please let me know.
Thanks Xun.Zhang!
This worked out well, now the expanded metel screen we use is well represented in our model. Our drawings are still a bit off, I assume there is no way to show a texture withoiut turning the shading on.
This is not really acceptable, but an easy work around is to add a note to the drawing stating size and spec of the expanded metal finish and include and shaded iso view in the drawing for clarity.
Thanks,
Hello, is there a way to link / lock the two scales together?
