shell feature

I need help to shell out a Loft in the attached IV 2012 part file.The Loft i tried also as a new solid but the shell also cuts into the cylinder ( revolution 1 ) .I only want the 2 sides and bottom of the Loft to be Shelled,not the cyclinder.What do i need to change to get the shell to work?

Then you didn't do the new solid correctly.

Simple edit your loft and press the new solid box and then do your shell.. Worked just fine here.

It worked on the outside but how do i get the solid removed from the inside.I was able to previously get the New Solid to work on the Loft but was not able to remove the remains of the Loft on the inside

If you need it opened to the inside too you need to select both faces .

I worked it out,thanks.Combined the new solid and then used delete faces
