pipe saddle

I wish to create a contoured pipe end (as attachment). Easy to do in autocad 3d but inventor do you use the sheet metal option or is there a provision for cut to remove the unwanted top section of pipe to suit the desired profile.Would this be done in the sketch phase or model phase using additional sketch features.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would create the pipe as normal (either a revolution or sweep) and then cut away the end by using an extrusion from a sketch.  See the attached part (Iv2014) - I've revolved the pipe and on the same sketch I've drawing a circle to cut away the end.

Hope that makes sense.

ps - please list which Inventor version you are using, so we know what files you can/cannot open.
