nVidia settings

I'm curious what settings we should be using on our new nVidia cards.  We've ordered some new computers that have GTX 680 cards, but the anti-alias is not nearly as crisp as my old FX4800 is.  We've tried several drivers and settings in the program.  We tried getting the settings as close as possible, but the control panel for the GTX 680 has a lot of different settings that aren't available in the control panel of the FX 4800 and vice-versa.  I'm not a gamer and don't pretend to have any knowledge of which settings to tweak.  We have the settings in IV set to display quality: smoother and graphics setting: quality.

Does anyone have some pointers on what works for you?

As you know, GTX 680 is too new to list in Inventor certified Graphics Card.

If there is some issue for you to run Inventor in this graphics card and you don't knwo which driver is good to run Inventor, you could use graphics settings in Compability. .

Autodesk never ceases to disappoint.  A one year old card is still considered too new??  Autodesk is really slipping.

And another thing.  According to your link, the only "supported" nVidia graphics cards are Quaddro cards.  I was under the impression that since directX replaced openGL, GTX cards were the way to go.  Is that not true?

Bump.  Anyone willing to share their nVidia control panel settings?

yep afaik they stopped adding any cards to that list years ago.

First what do you have for these settings in inventor

tools..application options..display tab.. display quality (should be set to smoother)

Then

tools..application options..hardware tab... (should be set to quality)

Other than that I never had to do anything with the actual driver control panel settings.

Back in the day when Inventor was transitioning from openGL to directx I did go in to the driver control panel and force the highest antialiasing but it never seemed to work 100% right.

Nvidia Control Panel: 3D setting"

Adjust image settingw with preview: Let the 3D application decide

Manage 3D settings: Global- select Restore

Configure Multi-GPU: Maximize 3D performance & PhysX setting to Auto-select

Use the latest Microsoft certified Nvidia graphics card drivers

I use the Smooth display settings in Inventor, don't really find much difference in the Performance or Quality settings and am using Aero Thymes on my Windows PC.
