modifying sheetmetal thickness

When I enter sheet metal styles to change the thickness, is there a way to label the thickness as a gage and not a number? And is there a way to store multiple gages to set up a template?

You can save multiple styles in your template and give them names such as "12 gauge Stainless" or "16 gauge mild steel" and
specify the thickness and material type. The thickness will have to be set as a number, but it will only need doing once.

how can I make the thickness of the sheetmetal be the material callout, avoiding having to set up each thickness in the material editor?

Not sure what you mean. Thickness is just a parameter which you can access from your parameter list and export this as a custom
iProperty. Is this what you mean?

not really, If I want to have a certain metal grade I have to go into materials and add it, in order to pick it in the physical feild in properties. So instead of taking the time to type in 16 Gage in the sheet metal thickness editor, and then doing the same thing in the material editor, can I pull the data or copy it from the sheetmetal editor to the material editor

Ah, I don't think thats possible without resorting to writing a macro. Sorry.

Have you had a look at www.cbliss.com? There is a sheet metal template
there with several gages set up already...

Take a look at the sheet metal template that Cory McConnel
created. It can be found at

Has anyone else had trouble running that? The AutoNew macro hangs on me
every time it runs.
