mirrored part

How do I create a mirrored part in inventor keeping all the existing part features and being able to edit them..I know you can create a mirrored part using derived components but that just creates a dumb solid...and you can only add features and can't modify....existing ones...Is there any way of doing this......

You edit the mirrored derrived part by editing the original IPT file.

You could create a mirror plane away from the part. Mirror all the features
and you'll have 2 parts side by side. Then cut the original away. It works
but maybe not what you had in mind.

A single cut extrusion. You'll have to suppress that cut extrusion to edit the original features to update the mirrored features.
