lofting around a coiled path

what would be the procedure for creating a loft around a coiled path? is there a way to make the coil command create a path.

Coil line as surface body to generate the Path.

Create profile(s) to Loft or Sweep.

Attach your file here if you can't figure it out.

Im not sure how to upload the file but I hope
this helps. The goal is a simple style turbo compressor housing just for
personal learning of new techniques. I need it to loft from the big circle to
the small one in a coiled path

I read you mind and attached the solution to my original post - simply edit the dimensions and you are done.

Well then you are really in luck with Inventor - because it recorded everything I did in the order in which I did it.

Drag the red End of Part marker to just below Coil 1.

Right click on the Coil1 feature and select Visible.

Click on the plus symbol(+) and expand the feature.

Right click on the Sketch1 and examine.

Finish sketch, pull down the EOP to the next step and repeat....

How would make a base for that kind of shape to sit on? If I could just extrude a circle up to and CUT where they meet out and keep the rest would be nice but I caint find that option, only KEEP where they meet. Im sorry for it being a confusing question.

how would u got about making a base for it? i made i hollow with shell but if i just extrude a circle up to it it goes inside of it. is there a way to extrude up to it and everywhere they touch it cuts and leaves the rest? that way it doesnt go inside of it.

There are three options in Extrude, Join, Cut and Intersect.

I recommend putting this one aside for a couple of days and take the time to go through these
