leader text vertical justification

IV2010
Will someone please tell me how to make a leader and it's text go in the vertical direction?
I tried for the 10th time today, since release 10 to figure this out, and can't, and always resort to a symbol.
I'd like the leader text to do this through a style, if possible.
If not, then I'd like to do it through a leader any way I can.
Cheers ... Chris

Dennis,
Thanks, I NEVER would've figured out that combination-lock.
Now, when I delete the leader, the text flops to normal orientation.
How do I fix that, so the text stays vertical?
What I was hoping was to create a text style of any orientation I wanted (in this case, vertical, starting from down and going up); then create a leader style that goes in any direction I want; then combine the, and have the leader & text orientation that I want, with all the options of the leader.
Any way to accomplish either or both of the above?

Create a new Style. See attached...

Learning this will be painful without training or mentoring.

Dennis,
Thanks for the clarification.
See attached what I'm trying to accomplish.
Also, I want to make the text go at any angel.
None of the combinations of options seem to do it.
Any ideas?
Cheers ... Chris

The text alignment on leaders is controlled by the leader line. Delete
the leader line and text reverts BACK to its normal orientation. The fix
is a new vertical text style. See attached.

Thanks Dennis,
Before posting on the forum I tried combining a vertical text style w/the leader.
I couldn't find any options to orient the leader tag-end (to vertical or whatever).
I noticed, during the process, that the leader tag-end can go vertical & horizontal in either direction.
So I figured I could create a vertical text style and use it with the leader in the dimension style options, under a new dim style, such that, whatever directions I put the leader tag-end, the text would follow, provided I linked the vertical text style to the leader in the dim style options (see my previous post's pic).
However, I can't figure out a way to get the text to be vertical, while the leader goes in any direction, and points to whatever I want.
We do this in order to fit notes and such to drawings that have tight spacing between annotations.
The big question now is this:
Is what I want to do possible in IV2010?
Cheers ... Chris
