I hope somebody can help me. I have inventor 2013 and I try to convert a idw
drawing with 3 sheets to a dwg/dxf version for a supplier who has ACAD LT2012.
I tried to save as LT version, but he told me he just get a picture (bitmap
image). He asked me if I can export out to a 2d shape. What do I have to do?
Thanks for your help in advance. Elke
Solved! Go to Solution.
You should be able to convert your file by going to Save As > Save Copy As > and choosing either AutoCAD DWG or DXF.
I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Also make sure you select Autocad 2012 or older. We use a couple of steel service centers and every once and a while I forget they are on older versions of Acad and I have to export to a older version of Acad than the default current year for them to open.
It always seems to happen on stuff that is a rush and behind before you start.
Thank you for your help.
I exported to acad with options "file version AutoCAD2000/LT drawing and used Base View Scale - Model Space" and that worked. After that I had to open up the dwg drawing to exported it to R12 dxf.
