iMates in iLogic??

I have been trying to put together an iLogic assembly and I was told that I would have to use iMates to make the assembly work, so I can switch between main assemblies (and thier parts) via a basic form.

But I have created the iMates inside the assebly and inside the connecting parts (each was a seperate try) but I can't get them to lock together.

Any help would be appreciated.  I am using InventorPDS Ultimate 2013.

Not sure if this is needed but do you have this on? It is very hard to tell if it is on or off with the way of doing things. I just don't know if using ilogic with imates if it needs to be on.

I used the "Place iLogic Componet" to bring in the assembly to start with and then I iMates

Would I have to remove the assembly first..then reinsert it?
