Every once in a while I get one of these. I opened up a rule to edit, added a return to type on, and realized I forgot to create the user parameter I was going to reference. I click cancel and this comes up. It doesn't matter what combination of pressing x, cancel, ok, suppressing the rule, whatever I do I cannot exit the rule editor. The message says object reference not set to an instance of an object. OK, I'm not using any objects in my rule. It's just some parameters being set. But a better question is: why do you give a **** about what the code is if I'm hitting cancel anyways?!
The only way I can get out of it is to kill Inventor using Task Manager and lose my work. Luckily I've been remembering ctrl+s today.
