in Autocad it was easy, in dimension style I could set up dimensions to be rounded to 5 ot 10 or any other value.
I now need to set dimension to be rounded to 5mm (5, 10, 15, 20 .......). And I can not find a way to do that.
How can I have this done?
ref attached pic, you'll be interested in either "round" or "floor" IRC.
Depends on the work environment your in at the time, Creating a part or a Drawing.
In Part (IPT) see attachment IPT- UNITS SET.PNG
In Drawing see attached IDW - UNITS SET.PNG
like ampster said, rounding a number is not the same as units precision, although in some cases they work similar.
From post so far nothing was really helpful.
What I want is to make a dimension style that would create dimensions rounded to full 5 or 10 or in general any other value I want.
If you ask why. I will explain in advance.
I have some models that cover project from general to last detail. And in some drawings I need to put general dimensions of objects of large scale. In some case values are not very "exact", specially if there are some arc or angel issues invlowed. In such casec it looks rather silly when dimension is 100003. So I would be pleased if I could just set this to be rounded to 100000. (for exumple)
Anothe thind is when I do some draings for manusacturing purposes and I expect some tolerances (to whole dm for exumple) I would like to be ablle to round dimensins to 10mm
I do not believe there is a way to do this in Inventor. The round and floor functions I mentioned earlier would be used in parameters.
Maybe some sort of iLogic code would work but someone else would have to provide help in that area.
