extra shard of material on extrude, cutting

I have done an extrude, cut, and ended up with a very thin shard of material
where there was none before. This seems strange, if I had made a mistake
with the sketch or the extrude command, you would think it just would not
have cut enough away? Any one seen this before, work around? I'm afraid
that if I do an stl file of this, it may be hosed.

Sometimes if you just draw your sketch to the edge of a part it leaves this
cut. If possible extend the sketch past the edge of the part. If you can
post it to CF I'll take a look.

Since the sketch that makes up the last extrusion is made of two parts and
the projected geometry is on a curved surface, it looks like there is a bit
of area not being cut. But that still doesn't explain why it extends like a
flag past the edge of the part. Weird. By playing with the cut you might
be able to get rid of it (I was but I don't know your design restrictions).
I'd send this one into Autodesk for them to take a look.

thanks sean. I was able to get rid of it, by deleting projected geometry
and drawing lines and arcs to replace.
