dimension line snap error

I've posted a screenshot of a linear dimension as it is being applied.
Notice how there are two snap preview trails. It won't snap to the one with
the yellow dot, but instead locks in with a slight offset. To get them
aligned, I have to place the dimension then go back and drag it. This time
it aligns perfectly with the dot and the existing dim. Happens quite often.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? It showed up with R6.

I've not had this problem with a production version of Inventor but I hear it is a graphics issue. You might search the newsgroup to see what settings and driver versions most people have had the best luck with.

I also get that constantly on my home machine. Haven't bothered playing with different
drivers, but yes it showed up with R6 for me also.

I don't recall ever seeing a post regarding this
problem.  Is this where you heard about it?

My driver version has always worked well so it
didn't occur to me to check that.  I'll experiment with some of the
recommended ones.  Thanks.

I'm willing to bet if you search for "yellow dot" you will find some discussions in this forum.

Is your home machine similar to mine in terms of hardware?

Depends on what you mean by similar

I have
R6 SP1
XP Pro
Dual AMD 1400
Gloria II (can't tell you off the top of my head what driver I am using)

Pretty similar.

I'm running win2000
Dual AMD 2100
Geforce2

That's a very common setup. I'm surprised others haven't encountered this
problem.
