This usually happens in a context (part, assy etc) where you have more than one alias starting with a particular letter. Might even be a default alais you weren't aware of.

Hi! It is hard to tell where the problem is by the brief description. Did you try resetting the keys (Tools -> Customize -> Keyboard -> Reset All Keys)? Does it help?
