Hello everyone,
I'm going a little bit deeper in the cable and harness module of inventor and I'm missing some functions (or I can't find them, or there is a workaround for.)
The whole reason that I'm using this module is to see if everything fits in 3d and get the data for the harness manufacture easily. The first thing is going quit well, but the second thing not. I give first a description of the harness that I want to 'simulate'
As protection I use components of harnessflex (http://www.harnessflex.co.uk/) for protection of the cable, also T pieces, backshells and deutsch connectors (http://www.laddinc.com/component/k2/item/748-dt04-08pa-680.html) and so on.
So I can put these components in the cable assembly, where I'm using the 'create segment' to simulate the conduit (protection around the wires). But when I flattening the harness (nailbord) the components (conduit, connectors, split parts like t-pieces) are not shown, but only the segments. I know I can show the connectors with 'place connector views' but not fixed to the segments to annotate. Is it possible to make the components visible in the nailbord ?
I found an example on the internet to give an example of what I want: http://www.imakenews.com/ptcexpress/e_article001092875.cfm?x=bcG4481,b3jsqcsB,w
Is this possible with inventor ? or, are there workarounds ?
Any reason why you are not using just the normal Design Views or documenting the SubAssembly of the C&H directly? This would show them connected in a traditional state instead of the reference nailboard. You might have to fiddle with the Crop command or a couple seperate views, but I am sure you could get want you are looking for that way.
