bent metal part

I am trying to model a metal part that is 1/8" thk x 1/2" wide extruded to 2" long with a 90degree twist in the center. This means the top rectangle sketch is 90degrees from the bottom rectangle.

Any thoughts?

I am using Inventor 2011

Attach the file here of what you have been able to complete so far.
Are you familiar with Loft or Coil features?

If you use Loft you will have to become familiar with the Conditions (tangent) and Transition (point mapping) tabs.

Hi ScottSwens,

In addition to JD's example, attached are a couple of others, using different approaches.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

I have heard of lofts and coils, but really have not used them. I just tried coil and the result was not what I was looking for. I actually made this part by putting it into a vise and twisting it with a pair of pliers. the twist area was a lot shorter.

I am thinking that loft may be the better approach.

I have included my part, but it is just sketches.

Your picture is what I am looking for.

JD's example is what I am looking for. I am going to try to do the twist then extrude each rectangle after that. I was thinking of a 1 step approac, but a 3 step one might work.
