Windows2K vs. XP?

Hello ng

What are the recommendations for Inventor6? Windows 2000 or Windows XP?
We are upgrading from Inventor 5.3 under Windows NT4.0sp6a.

XP has faster graphics performance than 2k and has less memory leaks. I have XP on my new machine,
made it look like Win2k and it's absolutely fine.

John,
This is interesting, I've heard similar already. About the graphic
performance, do you have any compareable numbers?

At the moment I have no "Apples with Apples" comparisons, it's just the feel of the thing when
modelling, the graphics just seem so much smoother and Inventor seems so much more responsive (with
Quadro4 cards anyway).

Machines I use with Win2k
Dual AMD 1500+ Quadro4 750
Dual P3 866 with Elsa GLoria 2

XP Boxes
Dual AMD 2200+ Quadro4 550
P4 1.6 Laptop ATi Radeon 7500

Most customers we have are migrating to XP from 2000. As John stated,
Windows XP has a faster graphics subsystem than win2k. Performance is in the
neighborhood of 5 to 15% on average, running identical drivers.
