Windows ME

Was trying to install IV 6 on an AMD with Windows ME,
but no luck.
First of all, had IV 5.3 on this machine, therefore uninstalled IV 5.3
before attempting to install IV 6, but no luck, no error message.
Thereafter tried to re-install IV 5.3, but will not let me install same,
no error message, nothing.

Any ideas what can be tried next?

I am afraid you might have to get rid of Windows ME and get 2000, or XP.

If you read about all the crashes IV6 had without the service pack then 10 fold that you will have ME. It will crash on any program 😉 not just inventor.

In the 'ReadMe' file under 'installation' it talks about deleting the registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk\Setup Wizard'. You may want to read this section to see if it applies to your situation.
