Which cpu for inventor

I am upgrading a machine and I am not sure which way to go P4 2.4 533 fsb or AMD XP 2400 (1.93 mhz) 266 fsb. Which one will be noticably quicker if at all.

For single CPU, a P4 will probably be faster. If you are going for a multiple processor system then
the AMD architecture with shared data cache is a lot more efficient at spreading the data over
multiple CPU's and is therefore faster (IMHO).

You can probably get a dual AMD for much less. I would pack it with as much
memory (even 3GB) as you can afford. Perhaps by a large EIDE drive instead
of a SCSI. Putting all of the data locally is a big plus.

The dual processors come into use when you are making drawings. precise.

I looked at a dual AMD setup but all the motherboards only support 266MHZ
RAM which is a little old now....
