A quick google search brought this up.  Watch
the word wrap on this link:

Turbosquid will want you to register, and the file
format is Cinema 4D, but it's a free download.  I'm not sure if you will be
able to translate it (MDT might be better to try to get a solid).  It looks
like a pretty nice model.

If that doesn't work, try the google search and go
hunting.  Military gear is modeled extensively by folks who are sticklers
for authenticity, so there's almost always lots of information available
online.

Good luck,

Walt

Then why couldn't I find a solid of a C-130?

Though they are not very detailed, this site still
provides some interesting blueprints.

That turbosquid site has lots of stuff.  Most
of the models are for sale, though.

what input command would I use in MDT to open that file extension?

I got curious after I replied to you, and went to
the site, registered, and DL'd the file.  I couldn't get the .sit file into
MDT.  At this point I'm stuck.  Aparently Cinema 4D is an
Italian package, and a converter probably doesn't exist.  They had some
nice 3ds Max tank files, but they all cost money.

You could try 3dcafe, most of the stuff in in 3DS and some in DXF. you should be able to import them into ACAD...then export *.sat or *.iges. These are free models...lots of them.

i checked those sites out, they really helped out. Thanks. Is it possible to get a 3dmax model into inventor?

.sit is an archive file - you need to get Stuffit to "unstuffit".

Then you have to deal with the .c4d filetype.

I tried to open the file in Presenter3D but it isn't even in a 3dMax format.
Oh well.

I recommend you go to a hobby shop and buy an
actual model and create your solid from it.  I personally prefer the
unassembled plastic models over the die cast "show" models.

I have used this technique for creating many
types of vechicles and the results are satisfactory.

There's a Max import into MDT.  I used it
years ago and it worked for what I was doing then.  Unfortunately, Max
files are most often surfaces, and I'm not sure how the translation
into Inventor would be.  There should be a way to do it.

The only package I know of that will convert the faceted model to nurbs is Maya 4.5 or later. I don't know if it will open the c4d file once you unsit it though.
