Viewers other than Volo View?

I was wondering if anybody is using viewers other than Volo View for viewing idw files. We are having troubles with Volo View printing idw files containing inserted Excel tables. If you plot the idw files using Inventor, the printer receives a file size of say 1 meg for example. If you try to print the same file using Volo View, the printer receives a file size of 35 meg. This bogs down our printers to the point where it could take about 5 mins to print. This is unacceptable since we are using Volo View on our production floor to produce prints for running parts. Any suggestions?

It's been said many times. If all you want is to view/print IDW's then turn them into PDF.

And if you don't want PDF's you can now create JPEGS

Check back for updates, the IDW portion is not completely automated yet.

Of course if you want PDF's that code is there as well

No, I have been posting the plugs before but nobody has been reading
them. Others have been suggesting I announce it so I did. I will
probably regret it when I start getting "bug reports".

Yeah, talking of bug reports 😉

I tried to try the iBatch program. (no luck though).
My problem is probably that my windows directory is
"C:\WINDOWS\system32".

Any news on an updated version?

I am going to assume you are talking about the Program iBatchPrint.exe
Your Windows directory does not need to be C:\Windows\System32 but it
will default to that if the environment variable windir is not set or is
set to the wrong location.

Open a command window and type set. If you do not see a line which reads:
windir=C:\Windows
Then you should be able to add an Environment variable named windir and
set it to the root directory of where Windows runs from.

The iBatch program first looks at windir then appends \system32
If, in your language version of Windows, the system directory is not
system32, the utility will fail and I need to fix it.

Let me know and I will try to fix it
