I imported a Vector Map from Adobe Illistrator, to Inventor. However, when I go to extrude the logo into the model, dispite looking fine in the drawing, claim's there are inter-secting loops and shows it as disfigured.
Attach original image file here.
and the Inventor file
Find the red End of Part marker in the browser.
(End of Folded on sheet metal parts EOF)
Drag the red EOP to the top of the browser hiding all features.
Save the file with the EOP in a rolled up state.
Right click on the file name and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Attach the resulting *.zip file here.
Did you turn off autoconstrain on import?

Here are the files you requested.
I added the logo's .dwg incase you wanted it as well.
The original imput was not really appropriate quality.
Even the "circles" are splines.
I will try to see what I can do with fixing it up (in AutoCAD) on Monday. (I don't have my notes in front of me.)
I will be trying to reduce to arc segments and lines.
Frankly, I think your best bet is to start from srcatch rather than use this art.
But even with that art - I am sure better results can be obtained without too much work.

Yeah. I know. But it was the best I could get.
I thought autocad might be the answer but I'm not even that proficent in inventor.
With just a few minutes of effort I was able to dramatically improve the sketch.
I will see on Monday how much more improvement can be made.

Five minute in Rhino. The dwg came in just as in the attached, no manuipulation. (EOP rolled up)
Students can download the latest version of Inventor here http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity

Nope.
Apparently not.
Could you guys tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I'm making gifts for my friends and the is literally happening to _everything_
If you're a student, you can buy a copy of Rhino for small money.
95 Euro's is hardly cheap O_o
Also, any update on the vector map stuff JDMather?
