Vary Sketch Pattern

Hi Guys,

I need a special pattern that varies the original sketch dim. Is this possible?

Thanks

Hi CAD-One,

You can right click on one of your patterned sketch object and then choose Edit Pattern to modify your sketch pattern, Then click the >> button in the lower right hand corner of the dialog box. Then uncheck the Associative checkbox. This will make them individual objects that can be edited individually. But they'll likely need to be dimensioned in place afterward to keep them from moving around.

Depending on the task at hand, there might be a better way using a feature pattern instead of sketch pattern, but maybe not.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Could you add more info. about your issue or add one image to show the result you'd like to see?

Thanks!

Take a look at the attached part, I am talking about the Rectangular Pattern 1.

I am using still Inventor 2012.

Like this?

I changed the direction of the pattern to follow the angled edge.

Mike,

I wasnt thinking that Direction.

This was a simple & great solution. Thanks to you.

Hi, i need crate a 1/4 plannar coil, and need create a vary sketch pattern, buy i not found solution, can yours help?

This is a planar surface coil over pcb sustrate FR4 (http://www.ijser.org/paper/Analysis-of-RF-MEMS-Square-Spiral-Inductor/Image_003.jpg) i need creat only 1/4 for simulate in COMSOL using 3 axis simetry. But the rectangular pattern do not vary the length of coil.

I need vary the number of turn coil from comsol to optimize the coil inductance. Because i need the pattern vary acodring vary the n parameter.

I post an example of circular coil two layer

Is there a reason you cannot use the Coil command rather than Equation curve?

Is there a reason you are creating multiple surface bodies?

The coil is planar, i need crear a surface coil for to simplify the method of finite elements in COMSOL Multiphisics. I need a tool that produces a variable pattern. Like this: http://help.solidworks.com/2012/English/solidworks/sldworks/vary_sketch.htm

It might have been best to start a new thread on this topic.

See attached file for a clear surface planar coil (Spiral).

In the image you linked - the spiral is in straight lines rather than a continuous curve.

Is that what you really really want?  (I remember this same topic on the SolidWorks forum a few months ago - this is much easier in Inventor than SolidWorks - if that is what you really want.)

Great job!, This flat circular coil have simulated, but for ten turns of winding, the simulation takes several days. I need to make one quarter of a rectangular flat coil for use symmetries and achieve shorter simulation. The coil is shallow and is located on a printed circuit board PCB). I want to automate the process of this cración quarter of flat rectangular coil, varying the inner radius, number of laps, the track width and track separation. These parameters are controlled by COMSOL LiveLink for Inventor. I can do it manually, but I want to automatic to use optimization modules that automatically vary these parameters.
The rectangular pattern not complete the coils, and I need to be automatically completed by varying the parameters.

I am still having trouble understanding your design intent.

Is this what you are after?

YES!!!, I have to create exactly that quarter of coil, to simulate in a multiphysics program. But it has to be automatic, i can not manually create the coil because the multiphysics program optimizes geometric dimensions varying parameters directly in Inventor, such as the inner radius, coil width, coil separations, and coil turns. Thanks JDMather!!!
